Entrelazado en la Fábrica de Concreto
Brooklyn, NY (2020)

Entrelazado en la Fábrica de Concreto is an installation in a concrete factory by Fragmentario. With the support of Luis Madera (Puerto Rico) and Cornelio Quechotl Valencia (México), it is a celebration of industrial Bushwick. Made possible by Advanced Transit Mix.

It uses dead-stock silk organza, silk habutai and nylon fabrics, which have been dyed with avocado seeds, baking soda, lime juice, vinegar and iron pills to achieve a range of hues. Recurrent materials in Fragmentario’s work in a technique she has defined as “entrelazado”, the Spanish word for both textile interweaving and interleaving. A technique that flirts but never commits to the idea of weaving.

Open to the public on September 19th, it will stay in place until two thousand forever. An uncertain date that will come depending on nature and human activity.
